Post 2547, have recently completed the first phase of the Veterans Memorial
Park with the dedication of the World War
II Memorial and Honor Roll on August 29, 2004.
This memorial recognizes veterans from Easton who served during World War II. The committee is presently compiling those names. Eligibility for this memorial requires that the veteran entered service from Easton between the dates of December 7, 1941 thru December 31, 1946. The list of names is believed to be accurate, but the committee seeks input with regard to any names that should be added. The Memorial Committee will be the final arbitrators as to the eligibility of the final list of names. The approximate cost of Veterans Memorial Park is estimated at $140,000.00 and has been privately funded. We are now seeking donations from individuals and businesses to help fund this project. Individuals can help by sending a contribution to "VFW Post 2547" WWII Memorial & Honor Roll, P.O. Box 103, North Easton, MA 02356. Checks should be made out to "VFW Post 2547." You can also make a lasting impression by helping to pave the way by purchasing an engraved brick. Your brick will become part of a walkway leading up to the centerpiece of the Memorial. Bricks are $100.00 each and may include up to three lines with fourteen characters (including spaces) per line. |
