Governor Oliver Ames

Oliver Ames was born in Easton on February 4, 1831, the second son of Oakes and Eveline (Gilmore) Ames. Mr. Ames served in the Massachusetts State Senate, as Lieutenant-Governor, and as Governor.

On March 14, 1860, Mr. Ames married Anna C. Ray. They had six children. Governor Ames died in 1895.
